Alvarado Kent is a six-story multifamily complex designed to serve extremely low-income tenants; 80 of its 81 apartments will provide permanent supportive housing to extremely low-income tenants, including chronic homeless persons with mental illnesses, homeless veterans earning 30 percent or less than the area median income, and generally low-income persons earning 60 percent or less than the area median income. Plans call for a host of amenities including a community room, recreation room, community kitchen, lounge, computer room, laundry facilities, multiple outdoor decks, and on-site supportive services.
